Its The Holiday Season

I cannot believe its already December! Time has just been flying by. Feels just like it was Halloween and now Christmas is right around the corner!

The Fall season was busy! In October I had record Etsy sales and was able to make some nice donations to the Horse Rescue! I worked like crazy the whole month through to keep merchandise in my shop. November sales have actually been super slow, and I have been focusing on painting rather than my clay creations. I attended the Thunderbird Artist's Art and Wine Festival in Carefree in November, and I was really inspired by all the bold Contemporary Southwest Art that was on display there. I hope to join in and exibit at this Festival soon - maybe even next year. So...I need to get busy completing some paintings!

I have also been making gemstone beaded necklaces for the Rescue. Susan has purchased some great pewter pendants and I have been beading them for her. You can find the necklaces in my Etsy shop: http://www.stephhansoncreations.etsy.com/ 100% of sales from these necklaces are going to the Rescue! They make great Xmas gifts.

Horse Lover's Park Event

On October 4th I went with the Rescue to Horse Lover's Park in Phoenix, where we set up a table at an event that was going on for Scottsdale Riding Club. It was partly overcast so the weather was gorgeous! It was so nice to not be fried to a crisp for once!

Benjamin and I at the event. He has been around horses since he was 5 months old.
The trailer and sign.

The Dreamchaser table. I donated the basket of goodies on top for the raffle... a wall plaque, ornament, magnet, and necklace.

Susan with some adorable little barrel racers. Oh boy, would I have loved to have a horse at their age! Lucky girls!

Bracelet Focals

Something new! I started making these bracelet focal beads a couple of weeks ago and they are selling in my Etsy shop really fast! I'm so glad people like them. I'd better get busy and make some more!

More Poker Ride Preparations

We are all getting ready for the big event in October!

September Evenings

We are getting ready for a fun trailriding event in October that will hopefully bring in donations! It is a "Poker Ride" and will take place at Horse Lover's Park in Phoenix. That means practice, practice, and more practice.

Leanne and Dusty:

Precious Faith

Faith is a baby mini-burro and she is the most precious thing ever! Here she is with her momma (with their matching fly masks. I can't wait for the end of fly season!) I didn't know much about baby burros before I came here, but now I am completely in love!

So is everyone else who meets her. She is a little doll!

This pic is touching - Hope the mini-burro and the new Feedlot Rescue. If only human beings could get along so well...

August at Dreamchaser

August as usual was scorching here in Phoenix, so most of my visits to the Rescue had to happen in the evening. Can't wait for cooler weather so I can do mornings instead!

Some pics:

Two of the young babies at the Rescue, Dreamer and Sunday, with Dreamer's mom Goldrush.

This sweet boy was rescued from a Nevada feedlot where he was waiting for the slaughter truck. :( He was completely terrified of people (with good reason) when he arrived.

Look how far he has come!

Hmmm, this brush went MIA after this visit. What did you do with it Sinatra? ;P

My Clay Art Tiles Featured In Florida Cowgirl

I recently had a custom order for clay Art Tiles to be used in jewelry. They were so much fun to make! The jewelry artist who purchased them contacted me today with a photo of the first finished necklace, which is available in her shop for $50.

I think it turned out great and I can't wait to see the others! She has a great shop too! Check it out: http://floridacowgirls.com

New Arrivals

Lots of new things are happening around here! New photos of the min-burro, Faith, born to Hope & Charlie. Hope & Charlie were abandoned and were part of a group of 11 that Dreamchaser took in. Hope had been bred prior to her rescue.

The are new feedlot rescues at Dreamchaser too. Can you believe that this mare and foal (so safe and peacefully eating today at the rescue) were headed for slaughter at a Nevada feedlot??? They would be dead if Susan had not rescued them last week. They could really use your support - if anyone can donate: www.dreamchaserpmu.org

Presenting my new "Painted Ponies" series. Three beautiful handcrafted clay horse pendants with Tierra Cast copper loops. Ready to be used in your creations!
Pendants measure approx 1" X 1" and 1.25" X 1.25"

And finally, my boy Sinatra was ponied on Sunday with me on his back. I didn't get any pics of us on the trail, but I snapped a couple while we were waiting for everyone else to finish saddling up. He did so great and I am so proud of him! He is a former PMU foal BTW from a Premarin Farm in Canada.
